Bold Print Dress #1

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

ks_swirl_dress.jpg

This green swirled-oval surplice wrap dress is on sale at Kohl’s for $29.99. The solid wraparound sash gives it that flirty look in a subtle way and a very accentuated look without looking too overdone as well. A black pair of stilletos or black pumps would go nicely with this dress. Pretty huh?

I told Sasha I’ll never be able to afford the tropical floral dress($258) from Nordstrom but I’m sure I’ll find affordable versions so this is the beginning of a Bold Print Dress series I’m going to be doing here at Bargain Styling. The cost of 1 dress from Nordstrom could get you 3 or 4 dresses with my bargain help. :)

Look of the Week : Flower Print Dress with Belt

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

hopelesslovley1.jpg

I loved this look from Hopelesslovley when I saw it from Wardrobe Remix pool. Flower print dress which by the way is only $15, with red stripes belt and that bold color green short sleeves mini blazer is just gorgeous. None of ‘em matches but everything worked together so beautifully. Just perfect!

red_wedge000.jpg

Navy and White polka dot wrap chiffon dress by George, $24.82. Wide patent red belt with rectangular buckle by No Boundaries, $7.84. Metro7’s faux patent leather red peep toe wedge, $13.00. The total look is $45.66. Except for earrings, I wouldn’t add any other accessories coz the polka-dot with red combo is bold enough to stand alone. But that’s just me, wear a necklace too if you want :).

Look of the Week : Polka Dot Dress and Boots

Friday, March 30th, 2007

I changed my mind. Looks of the Week will not be a one day a week feature. It would probably be 2-3 times a week. There are just so many amazing fashionistas at Wardrobe Remix consciously yelling at me to feature here.

polkadress_boots.jpg

CityMorningBlue changed my mind. I saw this polka dot dress and boots ensemble and I was grinning from ear to ear. I mean, isn’t that gorgeous? Love the pearls too.

Friday’s Bargains : Dotted and Rampage

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Remember my $4.99 black polka-dot dress?, well I found a tan version of it the last time I went to Goody’s. Awesome huh? When I like a particular item, I tend to buy it in different colors. I didn’t see the tan version when I bought the black one but clearly it was fate that two months later I found the tan color. Don’t you think? :)

tan_dotteddress.jpg

I wasn’t really looking for shoes that same day but when I did a perusal at the shoes aisle, I saw this Olive green platforms with studs detail from Rampage on sale for $9.98. I mean, originally it was $35, so the decision was pretty much made for me..hehehe. There was no way I was walking away from a pair of shoes with that price. I LOOOOVE IT!. It is soooo comfortable. It’s like putting on a pair of white socks that you recently scooped out of the dryer. I kid you not.

rampage_shoes.jpg

This pair is not just perfect with the tan dotted dress, it’s also perfect with the green ensemble I put together last Saturday. Pretty much good with anything green in your outfit.

Kiss Me, I’m …. errr.. Wearing Green?

Friday, March 16th, 2007

Do you want to drool over hues of green perfect for tomorrow’s theme which is St. Patrick’s Day? Well, hop on in with your 3 inches heels coz you’re in for an online window shopping of your life. Ahhh, I love being a girl, don’t you? :)

NOTE : Click on the pictures for more info. Don’t worry, each item opens up in a new window so you can continue perusing my picks until your eyes turn green, no pun intended of course :).

kiwi_sundress.jpgI found this Kiwi solid tie front dress from Amazon.com. Originally $49.99, now on sale for $29.99. Hellloooo???.

roxy_greenknit.jpgHow about this Jade Knit baby-doll dress from Roxy?. Cute eh? I’m talking about the dress, not the model..hehehe. Oh alright, she’s cute too :). It’s $44. Too pricey for me but hey, you can’t go wrong with a baby-doll dress so YOU should go get it, *wicked*.

polka_green.jpgOh how I love this Xhilaration smocked polka dot mini-dress. It’s on clearance at Target for 16.99. Perfect over jeans. Oh alright, blacks leggings too if it’s what you prefer. But please please, don’t wear with any polka dot shoes. I beg you.

If you don’t feel like wearing a green outfit like everyone else but still want to be in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, how about just doing it with the shoes?. Am I speaking your language yet?

th_grrnes.jpgThis Tommy Hilfiger Tyler Closed-Toe Espadrille is only $48.45 from ShoeBuy. I say ‘only’ coz I think that’s very a good deal for a TH item. I don’t know what sold me on this pair. Is it the ribbon stripes or the interlocking monogram? Probably both.

jlo_grwedge.jpgEven though I’m not really a JLO fan therefore I refuse to make that woman richer than she already is(HAHA), I couldn’t help but drool over this Ginger Strappy with crystal details pair of sandals. Not to mention it’s on sale for $74.99. I mean I wouldn’t buy it but I can surely dream about it :). Damn, the more I look at this pair, the more I am determined to find a cheaper version. Wish me luck coz you know once I find it, I’ll post it here :).

green_pumps.jpg“OH MY GOD, PLEASE SAVE ME”. Those were my words when I saw this pair. Grant me a second to scream, AAAAAAHHHHH. Thank You. Another second to hide my credit card coz my friends, it’s on sale for $18.99. Louis Vuitton came out with a line like this years ago and trust me they weren’t selling it for $18.99…LOL. I still can’t get over it. Less than $20. Love the color, love the polka dot design inside, love the lacy trim and definitely love the height. One more time, AAAAAHHHHHH.

Ok, before I completely lose my mind I better end this post. But if you’re wondering what I would be wearing, well thanks for asking. I happen to have an outfit in mind. Since I already wore my green smocked top 3 days ago, I’ll just wear the $4.99 green cami I bought from the LEVI’S Outlet a few months ago. With the low-rise L.E.I Ashely jeans I bought from ROSS for $9.99 and my oh so orgasmic green open-toe pumps from PAYLESS.

green_top.jpglei_jeans.jpgstyle004_shoes.jpg

Thanks for joining me in this virtual eye-candy shopping. Hope you had a good time coz I certainly did. If you start dreaming about any of these items, listen, I am just an e-mail away. Trust me, I understand you completely. *HUGS*

White and Yellow Combo

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

white_dress2.jpgyellow_platform.jpgmulti_necklace.jpgwhite_yellowtote.jpg

I adore this combination. Simply Stunning. If you’re asking why the necklace doesn’t match the color scheme it’s because matching things is not quite the “in” thing anymore. THANK GOODNESS. Go bold. The white strapless dress from Issac Mizrahi is $39.99. Xhilaration Open-toe platfom is $17.99. Love it love it love it!. Yellow trim canvas tote for 14.99, Ivory and Coco beads necklace for $24.99. Everything is $97.96. Niiice.

It’s Spring at ROSS

Monday, March 12th, 2007

ross_img.jpgOne of these days, when I have money, haha, I will go to ROSS and shop for beautiful and affordable Spring dresses. I’ve been seeing their commercial every 5 minutes and I am so itching to go. But, I can’t right now so I’m just going to dream about the dresses I saw on TV and hope that once I get there I will discover that nice people have left me a few to buy. :). I saw bold prints and nautical designs. They’re definitely speaking my language.

Maternity Spring Dresses

Thursday, March 8th, 2007

When I was pregnant with my son almost 9 years ago I didn’t have that many choices for clothes. I wore baggy shirts over leggings. OMG, thinking about it now makes me cringe. Bear in mind, before pregnancy I was wearing trendy and fashionable clothes. I also remember wearing my husband’s jeans..LOL. With my second child, the maternity clothes I wore definitely stepped up. The Maternity clothes arena suddenly has cute, up-to-date and stylish options. Let me just say, I had fun. Even though I was feeling crappy most of the times somehow knowing I look good alleviated all the morning sickness and hot flashes I experienced throughout my pregnancy. Here are some Spring dresses I found on sale at Motherhood.

blue_mat2.jpgdot_mat3.jpg
The blue print halter dress is perfect since Spring has promised all sorts of bold prints for the season. It happens to be my one of the hues of my favorite color too :). This is not just for Spring either. I’m sure Summer will welcome this refreshing dress wholeheartedly. It’s on sale for $19.99. The tiered polka-dot dress is so feminine. I love the flowy style. I can almost feel how comfortable the fabric will envelope my body if I wore this while pregnant. This is on sale for $29.99

halter_mat1.Jpgfloral_mat4.jpg

Oh I love this halter dress made of crinkle chiffon. It makes me want to have another baby…hahaha. Bad news though, it’s unavailable for purchase at their online site. Bummer, coz it’s on sale for $9.99. I apologize. Hopefully you live in a nearby Motherhood store so you could visit it to find this dress. Go to their store locator to find out where in your area coz I really want you to have this dress. Goodluck. The last dress is a crinkle chiffon floral halter dress. It’s on sale for $14.99. I love how playful the floral print is. I also love how it showcases your sudden lift on the bust area..hehehe. Hey if you got it, flaunt it!. As a decent, chic, and sophisticated Momma-to-be of course :).

Mini Dress 101

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

mini_dress1.jpgJersey mini dresses are sooo flattering. They hug your body just perfectly. I found a couple of them last year, light tan and gray, at Wal-Mart on sale for $3. They are from their Metro7 collection. I’ve seen celebrities wearing their mini dresses as is and some wear it with tights or jeans. The starlets running around the Hollywood wear it commando style. Yah know, for the paparazzi to take a shot when they get out of their car showing the whole world what God intended to be covered with underwear which is why he invented Victoria Secret, or Hanes or whatever brand you prefer, HEHE. Being a 30 yr old Mom, I prefer to wear my mini dress over jeans. It’s very sophisticated especially with wedges as shoes to complete the outfit. Now if you are blessed with skinny legs, go ahead and wear it with skinny pants. I have curves everywhere so I opt for flare boot cut jeans. Mini Dresses may not be as in as it first started but if you still like to wear yours I suggest you do the over-the-jeans route. If you want to look like a cute teenager, well be my guest and wear it over tights/leggings. Just try not to stand right next to a highschool student or a gradeschooler. Hey, I’m just being honest here. Mini Dresses are very trendy so you need to be smart in wearing them as appropriate for your age.

To sum it up, for a sohpisticated Mom look, wear it over jeans. For a gradeschooler-teenager look, over tights or leggings. If you want to end up in your local paper for tomorrow’s issue, be like a celebrity, wear it commando style. :).

This Boots Are Made For Walking, pt2 : Black Boots

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

black_boots2.jpgLike I promised yesterday with the Brown Boots get up, here’s the faux suede round-toe knee-high black boots look. I bought this stacked heels pair last year at PAYLESS for $29.99. This blue peasant dress is actually a spring/summer dress but color never hurts anyone during the fall and winter. It definitely puts life in the dreary cold weather around here. When it’s really frigid I usually wear black tights to keep my legs warm but mostly I go bare. Just like the color, a little skin never hurt anyone either. I love pairing dresses with boots. Besides cuddling with the hubster because we’re too cheap to turn on the heater, and sharing a cup of hot chocolate with my son, it’s one of the things I look forward to during the fall/winter season. Being stylish is never far from my consciousness, I guess :). Hey, just because I don’t have my 18 yr. old body anymore that doesn’t mean I stopped caring of how I look. And just because it’s cold outside you shouldn’t let that little fact discourage you from looking chic and stylish. Don’t be afraid to wear those dresses with knee-high boots. A trench coat will go nicely with this for that needed cover up when it’s really cold outside.

An Eyelet and A Wedge/Espadrille

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

2 items I can never get tired off. A friend of mine sent me a link to Chadwicks current sale so of course I couldn’t pass doing an online-window shopping for you all nice stylish beautiful people :). My first stop was their dress collection. As soon as I saw the white eyelet dress I stopped perusing the section and moved on to find a wedge on sale that will go nicely with the dress. You’re all very lucky coz I found a perfect one. Actually I saw a cork wedge but it’s priced as $49. It’s gorgeous but I wouldn’t pay that much for a pair of shoes nor would I expect you too either.

eyelet_white_1.jpgwedges_1_1.jpg

Eyelet dresses are so feminine and a pair of wedge goes nicely with everything. This ensemble will definitely be a must-wear when Spring time comes. The dress is on sale for $29.99 while the wedge is on sale for $10.99. To complete this look, add color to it by wearing a playful long beaded necklace that has either green or blue color. There, you should be good to go.

Valentine’s Day Dress

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

jcpennydress_1.jpg Are you still looking for that perfect dress for your Valentine’s Day date?. Well don’t fret, just stop by JCPenny after work or bundle up your kids and head on out to pick one out from their Fun and Flirty selection. This Bisou Bisou black belted double V-neck dress is my pick from their Fun and Flirty collection. It’s on sale for $49.99. This will go great with a pair of black slingbacks which I’m hoping is already in your closet coz a girl should have at least a pair, right? :).

For more dresses, check out their Fun and Flirty section.
