Americas Basics: Comfy, Affordable Tees
Thursday, July 23rd, 2009I recently tried out Brooklyn based company’s Americas Basic tees. Having some cotton basic tops is a great asset to anyone’s closet. Here’s a review of Americas Basics.

In this photo: Racerback Ribbed Tanks - Salma ($6.90 - white), Tank Top With Body Hugging Ribbing - Sara ($6.90), and Summer Casual Short Dress - Jennifer ($8.50 - Fresh Green)
* Sure you can pick up a ribbed tank top anyday at Old Navy. What I liked about Americas Basics is how soft the shirt was and the shape it had to curve with your body and not just hang like a cheap tank does. I LOVE the Summer Casual Short Dress… but um.. it’s totally a shirt. Whoever is wearing this as a dress has got to have one nice can. But it’s a really cute top.. The elastic part acts as a band for the shirt to fall over it for a loose, beautiful top with a built in bra. At that price, I might stock up on Christmas gifts for my girlfriends. I Highly Recommend It!
Overall Rating: B+

GAP is getting rid of their Spring items by taking 75% off the original prices. NICE. If only I shop there a lot. Or if I shop there at all..LOL. I mostly go to the GAP Kids. For some reason, the sales clerk at the Kids department are more friendly. They greet people as they come in and very accomodating while you’re perusing the children’s clothings. While on the other side of the store are a bunch of snotty clerks who couldn’t be bothered to smile at anyone. They’re usually behind the counter gossiping about someone. This is my experience from the few GAP stores I’ve been to anyway. Maybe because I was pushing a stroller that they thought “OMG, she couldn’t possibly afford and wear GAP clothes”. Ah, the humanity.
