Friday, June 1st, 2007

ubpants_leitop.jpg

This is what I wore last night when we went out to dinner(and shopping afterwards, WOOT!). The $8 UNIONBAY pants, the L.E.I graphic tee that was among the haulage this past Memorial Day sale. A butterfly pendant necklace from Hot Topic(a gift form the hubby years ago), the remaining beads bracelet that I own(Baby Girl broke my other 2), DG blinged sunnies and Xhilaration black teardrop earrings from Target(can’t remember how much). The RAMPAGE studded platform shoes to complete the look.

What I Wore : Belted Dress W/ Jeans

I would’ve worn my Red Heels with this ensemble to match the red wide belt but I decided I’d continue wear the black heels since I wanted to wear my long cross necklace and black beads dangling eaarings. I’m glad I opted for it coz the red belt accentuated the whole look by itself. I would wear this dress by itself but my legs are still nursing a few more scars from the bug bites I’ve gotten 2 weekends ago.

Retail price is $40 but was priced $32 at the PX(Air Force Base). After the 75% was taken out, I only paid $8. OH MY GAWD! I told my husband this UNIONBAY low-rise khaki jeans with olive green belt was meant for me. The 75% off sale was waiting for me. It was the last jeans and I found it buried among tops which had 25% off tags. It fit me like a glove. I LOVE IT. $8 for jeans, Helllooo??? AND, it’s Unionbay. Definily a Bargain Styling A-lister :) .

What I Wore : Butterfly Blouse & Jeans

jeans_butterfly1.jpg

jeans_butterfly_access.jpg

red_shoes.jpg

Last Saturday was our 10th Year Anniversary. For my dinner date outfit I decided to just go casual: blouse and jeans with heels. I actually planned on wearing a dress days before but the weather didn’t cooperate so jeans it was. My husband matched my casual look by wearing his own Levi’s jeans and a long-sleeves button up shirt. If he wore his khakis, the rain spats would’ve been all over it so the jeans was a more practical wear.

Moving on to my outfit :) , it’s a burgundy butterfly-sleeves V-neck blouse that I bought from RAVE for $9.99 with my Levi’s low-rise jeans and my oh so sexy red heels from PAYLESS.

For the accessories, I went with my 14″ long black/brown beads necklace and gold cylinder earrings from Claire’s. The earrings were actually in a free bag that Claire’s gave my Mother-in-law when we had my daughter’s ear pierced done. Yup, she paid for her grandaughter getting her first bling on :) .

BTW, I had to don the clothes again this morning to capture the look for you my loyal readers so pardon my face with no make up and unruly hair. I still looked Hot, no? ;)

High-Waisted Jeans/Pants..Arrrggghhh

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

So, do you want to know what’s invading the Hollywood fashion these days? The Commando style is still rampant but it seems High-Waisted look is as well. I understand like any fashionista alive that fashion is a cycle. ’60’s inspired dresses are once again the rage. I love it. But high-waisted jeans? Not so much. Scratch that, NOT AT ALL.

hw_mischa1.jpghw_ciara1.jpghw_jess1.jpg

I’m not going to tell people what to wear, well I’m going to try anyway but this is another classic example of why we shouldn’t copy celebrities. Don’t swallow everything that Jessica Simpson practically shoves in your throat. Granted Ciara and Mischa Barton actually looked kinda decent, you still wouldn’t catch me dead in those pants.

Hey if you think you’d look good in ‘em or you’re going to look oh so fashionably trendy, go right ahead. But not for me. No Thanks. I’ll stick with MY own style. Unfortunately for the designers who suddenly brought it to life, I wouldn’t be following this trend. Even if for some miraculous reason I could afford it.

What I Wore : Belted Smocked Top W/ Red Heels

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

red_belt_look1.jpg

When I finally got my wide belts from EBAY, I thought to myself, “hmmmm, SELF, I’m sure there are are outfits we could come up with other than wearing the belts with dresses“. :) I’ve already wore the white belt with my off the shoulder orange tunic. And I planned on wearing the red one with one of my LBD’s.

Anyhooo, a light bulb went off and my bold printed smocked spaghetti straps babydoll top jumped at me. I’ve heard women say they don’t like wearing smocked tops because it makes them look pregnant. Well, I just found a solution for you. Wrap a belt around it. Wide ones though. Skinny belts wouldn’t work. I found this smocked top at Wal-Mart 3 years ago for $9.99(yes I still remember it), the red belt from Ebay, 2 for $15, L.E.I low-rise Chelsea jeans, $19.99. The Xhilaration green beads necklace from Target(on sale, $3.99) is actually a long one but I turned it into a double-strand look with this top because I know the color will get lost once mixed into the printed smocked top. AND of course to add to the red accent I was going for I wore my oh-so-orgasmic red heels from PAYLESS for shoes. The whole outfit worked perfectly, don’t you think?

red_belt_lookth.jpgred_shoes.jpg

Co-incidentally, Sasha thought of accenting her smocked top with belt as well. Sometimes I think we’re twins. Except she’s the prettier and skinnier one :).

What I Wore : Orange Day

Friday, April 20th, 2007

orange_belted_heels1.jpg

orange_belted_heels2.jpg

< orange_belted_heels3.jpg

I’m wearing this orange tunic and white wide belt ensemble today for “Orange and Maroon Effect Day“. Orange tunic, $3.99 from an Army Surpluss store in NY, Levi’s jeans, $21.99, white wide belt from Ebay, black buckle detail stilletos from PX, $12.99, and black cross beads long necklace, $7.99.

If any of you are bothered for the fact that I enumerated every item in my ensemble considering it’s supposed to be in support for the Virginia Tech victims, I just want to say, this is a Fashion blog specifically for styling on a budget. Therefore the focus is fashion. I have written about this tragedy in different blogs I write for.

Bargain Styling From Wal-Mart #2

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

I’ll never be able to wear skinny jeans, unless I starve myself for 5 straight months(LOL, it’ll never happen) coz I don’t want my huge hips to all of a sudden go medieval on me for painstakingly trying to fit it in one but if I could, I’d start off with the ensemble below. It’s casual and it just makes you feel so put together that you want to say to anyone staring at your ass, “yeah buddy, drool away” :D.

metro7_skinny.jpggreen_stripes.jpg
gypsy_heels.jpgonyx_necklace.jpg

Skinny jeans from Metro7, $19.94. The green stripes sweater is perfect for the Spring’s cool breeze. The hem kinda covers the midriff a little bit which is always a good trick. And, it’s only $11. Kitten heels pointy toe shoes adds sophistication to this look. On sale for $13. The Onyx beads necklace is a little pricey for my taste, $45 but this is just an idea of the kinds of necklace that will look good with the sweater. I’m pretty sure you can find a cheaper one from another store. Overall total is $88.94 so even with the expensive necklace, the whole ensemble is still under $100 :)

I Wore Green on St. Patrick’s Day

Monday, March 19th, 2007

green_outfit1.jpgI posted last week what I was going to wear this past Saturday but in the end I added a little twist coz of the cool weather. Not too shabby I think. L.E.I low-rise jeans, green camisole, a camouflage short sleeves hoodie, and of course my green pumps. For accessories, I wore my light tan marbled beads necklace, wood beaded Asian bracelets(2) that my husband bought me from his deployment in Korea and sterling hoop earrings. I thought I looked good that’s why I’m posting it here even though the occassion is already over, heh. I was stylin’, what can I say. Of course, the whole outfit was less than $100. Jeans for $9.99, camisole from Levi’s Outlet for less than $5, camouflage hoodie that my hubby picked himself from Goody’s for $7.98, PAYLESS pumps for 9.99, bead necklace for a $1 from a local Flea Market, bracelets were gifts and the earrings we’re a part of a 3-sets for $3.20. NICE.

Kiss Me, I’m …. errr.. Wearing Green?

Friday, March 16th, 2007

Do you want to drool over hues of green perfect for tomorrow’s theme which is St. Patrick’s Day? Well, hop on in with your 3 inches heels coz you’re in for an online window shopping of your life. Ahhh, I love being a girl, don’t you? :)

NOTE : Click on the pictures for more info. Don’t worry, each item opens up in a new window so you can continue perusing my picks until your eyes turn green, no pun intended of course :).

kiwi_sundress.jpgI found this Kiwi solid tie front dress from Amazon.com. Originally $49.99, now on sale for $29.99. Hellloooo???.

roxy_greenknit.jpgHow about this Jade Knit baby-doll dress from Roxy?. Cute eh? I’m talking about the dress, not the model..hehehe. Oh alright, she’s cute too :). It’s $44. Too pricey for me but hey, you can’t go wrong with a baby-doll dress so YOU should go get it, *wicked*.

polka_green.jpgOh how I love this Xhilaration smocked polka dot mini-dress. It’s on clearance at Target for 16.99. Perfect over jeans. Oh alright, blacks leggings too if it’s what you prefer. But please please, don’t wear with any polka dot shoes. I beg you.

If you don’t feel like wearing a green outfit like everyone else but still want to be in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, how about just doing it with the shoes?. Am I speaking your language yet?

th_grrnes.jpgThis Tommy Hilfiger Tyler Closed-Toe Espadrille is only $48.45 from ShoeBuy. I say ‘only’ coz I think that’s very a good deal for a TH item. I don’t know what sold me on this pair. Is it the ribbon stripes or the interlocking monogram? Probably both.

jlo_grwedge.jpgEven though I’m not really a JLO fan therefore I refuse to make that woman richer than she already is(HAHA), I couldn’t help but drool over this Ginger Strappy with crystal details pair of sandals. Not to mention it’s on sale for $74.99. I mean I wouldn’t buy it but I can surely dream about it :). Damn, the more I look at this pair, the more I am determined to find a cheaper version. Wish me luck coz you know once I find it, I’ll post it here :).

green_pumps.jpg“OH MY GOD, PLEASE SAVE ME”. Those were my words when I saw this pair. Grant me a second to scream, AAAAAAHHHHH. Thank You. Another second to hide my credit card coz my friends, it’s on sale for $18.99. Louis Vuitton came out with a line like this years ago and trust me they weren’t selling it for $18.99…LOL. I still can’t get over it. Less than $20. Love the color, love the polka dot design inside, love the lacy trim and definitely love the height. One more time, AAAAAHHHHHH.

Ok, before I completely lose my mind I better end this post. But if you’re wondering what I would be wearing, well thanks for asking. I happen to have an outfit in mind. Since I already wore my green smocked top 3 days ago, I’ll just wear the $4.99 green cami I bought from the LEVI’S Outlet a few months ago. With the low-rise L.E.I Ashely jeans I bought from ROSS for $9.99 and my oh so orgasmic green open-toe pumps from PAYLESS.

green_top.jpglei_jeans.jpgstyle004_shoes.jpg

Thanks for joining me in this virtual eye-candy shopping. Hope you had a good time coz I certainly did. If you start dreaming about any of these items, listen, I am just an e-mail away. Trust me, I understand you completely. *HUGS*

Mini Dress 101

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

mini_dress1.jpgJersey mini dresses are sooo flattering. They hug your body just perfectly. I found a couple of them last year, light tan and gray, at Wal-Mart on sale for $3. They are from their Metro7 collection. I’ve seen celebrities wearing their mini dresses as is and some wear it with tights or jeans. The starlets running around the Hollywood wear it commando style. Yah know, for the paparazzi to take a shot when they get out of their car showing the whole world what God intended to be covered with underwear which is why he invented Victoria Secret, or Hanes or whatever brand you prefer, HEHE. Being a 30 yr old Mom, I prefer to wear my mini dress over jeans. It’s very sophisticated especially with wedges as shoes to complete the outfit. Now if you are blessed with skinny legs, go ahead and wear it with skinny pants. I have curves everywhere so I opt for flare boot cut jeans. Mini Dresses may not be as in as it first started but if you still like to wear yours I suggest you do the over-the-jeans route. If you want to look like a cute teenager, well be my guest and wear it over tights/leggings. Just try not to stand right next to a highschool student or a gradeschooler. Hey, I’m just being honest here. Mini Dresses are very trendy so you need to be smart in wearing them as appropriate for your age.

To sum it up, for a sohpisticated Mom look, wear it over jeans. For a gradeschooler-teenager look, over tights or leggings. If you want to end up in your local paper for tomorrow’s issue, be like a celebrity, wear it commando style. :).

How To Wear A Bubble Top?

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

bubble_top1.jpgThe uber-stylish Sasha from Tops2Bottoms featured a fashionista wearing a Bubble Tunic which inspired me to showcase here at BS my own version of wearing a bubble top. First of all, I found this orange one at AAFES during my birthday shopping spree last December on sale for only $1.50. Yeah, 75% off the original price then another 50% off at the register. Too bad I didn’t find any other colors to take advantage of that sale. Anyhooo, what I love about a Bubble top is that it hides that annoying pooch I can’t seem to get rid off even after losing weight 6 months after having a baby. Mothers, you know what I mean. Thank goodness for Bubble Tops :).

brown_wedge.jpgI wear mine with my L.E.I Chelsea Low Rise Boot Cut that I bought from Goody’s for $19.99. Another item from my birthday shopping spree. I finish this combination off with the brown Mossimo wedge I bought from Target 2 years ago on sale for $12.99. So to calculate this fabulous get up, $1.50 for the top, $19.99 for the jeans and $12.99 for the wedge, the overall total is : $34.48.

So to sum it all up, you get an idea on how to wear a bubble top in a very afforadable yet sexy way. That my friends is what Bargain Styling is all about. Now what are you waiting for?, go find your first Bubble Top then strut your stuff. WOOHOO!.
