OutFitKit - complete outfits for under $60

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Warning- Shameless self promotion!

A few months ago, I decided to combine my love of bargains, New York City, and fashion. It has always been my goal to start my own business(I teach entrepreneurship) and I always have a trillion ideas. This particular idea came to me because my sister and I were always getting compliments on our outfits. And people were always amazed when they found out how much we paid for them. I thought people would be happy to not have to go around to 12 different stores to get a complete outfit - so OutFitKit was born.

What is OutFitKit? It is an on-line website where you can get a complete outfit for under $60. Each $35-$39 outfit comes complete with a handbag and accessories. When you add shoes to your outfit - the shoes ship for free. The best part is the clothes all come from New York City.

Here is one of my favorites outfits:

You can purchase this outfit here

I am thinking about adding a new line of vintage outfits. What do you think? Would you purchase an entire outfit made from vintage clothes?

Payless - BOGO (free shipping till July 8!)

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

Anyone who knows me, knows I love shoes. Boots, flats, high heels, sandals, doesn’t matter - I love them all. I get most of my shoes from Payless Shoe Source - who can beat their amazing sales? Right now they have a Buy One, Get One ½ Half EVERYTHING Sale (shoes, purses, whatever they have!). Here are a few of my current favorite shoes from their selection.

Yup, you’ve read it right. I’m not sure if I like it. I don’t think PAYLESS is investing on it either judging by the 9 items on the quilted collection. See for yourself.

What I Wore : UNIONBAY Pants and L.E.I Graphic Tee

Friday, June 1st, 2007

ubpants_leitop.jpg

This is what I wore last night when we went out to dinner(and shopping afterwards, WOOT!). The $8 UNIONBAY pants, the L.E.I graphic tee that was among the haulage this past Memorial Day sale. A butterfly pendant necklace from Hot Topic(a gift form the hubby years ago), the remaining beads bracelet that I own(Baby Girl broke my other 2), DG blinged sunnies and Xhilaration black teardrop earrings from Target(can’t remember how much). The RAMPAGE studded platform shoes to complete the look.

What I Wore : Belted Dress W/ Jeans

bluedress_denim3.jpg

I would’ve worn my Red Heels with this ensemble to match the red wide belt but I decided I’d continue wear the black heels since I wanted to wear my long cross necklace and black beads dangling eaarings. I’m glad I opted for it coz the red belt accentuated the whole look by itself. I would wear this dress by itself but my legs are still nursing a few more scars from the bug bites I’ve gotten 2 weekends ago.

My Favorite Spring/Summer Shoes

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

This is written for the second installment of The Bargain Queen’s Fabulous Festival of Fashion, Beauty and Style. The theme is so close to my heart I could burst…LOL. When Individual Chic announced that the new theme she will be hosting is SHOES, I was like, “I am sooooooo IN”.

Here are the shoes from my collection that I wear during the Spring and Summer season. You’ve seen most of them in my What I Wore entries but let’s relive the moments and drool all over again, Shall we?

THE WEDGES

brown_wedge.jpg

I bought this at Target, on sale for $12, I think. I know it’s less than $15 :) . I wear this pair, everywhere, all the time. Either with jeans, skirts or dresses.

shx-wedge.jpg

This is the second pair of wedge that I wear mostly when we go out for dinner or to Church. I’s my “formal” wedge, while the one above is my “casual” wedge. It was a gift from a very dear friend of mine who has a sexy British accent.

Look of the Week : White and Brown Combo

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

I don’t know if it’s a fashion rule or not but it seems when someone is wearing white, you could always expect something black as an accessory. Well not Midwest_Jess. She accentuated her beautiful white dress with nature tones. From the purse, to the Dior scarf she cleverly wrapped around her wrist and the strappy shoes.

white_dress1.jpg

I love how she put the collar up as well. I’m going to follow her suit and do a white and brown combo sometime coz I too unconcsiously do the white and black combo all the time.

Look of the Week : Hat, Scarf, Shorts

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

shorts_hat_look.jpg

I can never pull off a look like this. We can start with the hat and I’m done..lol. My head is too big. She’s doing it though, fabulously. The scarf around her neck definitely adds a playful yet elegant touch. The beige(?) shoes from Target fits perfectly with the length of her Bermuda shorts. So YES, I may never see myself in this outfit but KUDOS to her for looking so great in it.

What I Wore : Butterfly Blouse & Jeans

Monday, May 7th, 2007

red_shoes.jpg

Last Saturday was our 10th Year Anniversary. For my dinner date outfit I decided to just go casual: blouse and jeans with heels. I actually planned on wearing a dress days before but the weather didn’t cooperate so jeans it was. My husband matched my casual look by wearing his own Levi’s jeans and a long-sleeves button up shirt. If he wore his khakis, the rain spats would’ve been all over it so the jeans was a more practical wear.

Moving on to my outfit :) , it’s a burgundy butterfly-sleeves V-neck blouse that I bought from RAVE for $9.99 with my Levi’s low-rise jeans and my oh so sexy red heels from PAYLESS.

For the accessories, I went with my 14″ long black/brown beads necklace and gold cylinder earrings from Claire’s. The earrings were actually in a free bag that Claire’s gave my Mother-in-law when we had my daughter’s ear pierced done. Yup, she paid for her grandaughter getting her first bling on :) .

BTW, I had to don the clothes again this morning to capture the look for you my loyal readers so pardon my face with no make up and unruly hair. I still looked Hot, no? ;)

PAYLESS Summer Preview

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

payless_summerpreview.jpg

PAYLESS just released their Summer line. I love what I’m seeing. The colors are amazing. Right now they are 40% off so what are you waiting for?. I’m thinking of getting the yellow polka dot espadrille slide. They navy blue looks gorgeous too but i’m liking the yellow better. So which one are you getting? :)

Bold Print Dress #1

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

ks_swirl_dress.jpg

This green swirled-oval surplice wrap dress is on sale at Kohl’s for $29.99. The solid wraparound sash gives it that flirty look in a subtle way and a very accentuated look without looking too overdone as well. A black pair of stilletos or black pumps would go nicely with this dress. Pretty huh?

I told Sasha I’ll never be able to afford the tropical floral dress($258) from Nordstrom but I’m sure I’ll find affordable versions so this is the beginning of a Bold Print Dress series I’m going to be doing here at Bargain Styling. The cost of 1 dress from Nordstrom could get you 3 or 4 dresses with my bargain help. :)
