Summer is almost over. I waited so long for summer to get here and the next thing I know it is Labor Day. Fall is actually my favorite time of year but around January I long for summer. So for those of you out there who might be getting to do something fun for Labor Day weekend I have a great Labor Day outfit.

This outfit is all from New York and Company. They are having a huge Labor Day sale and many of their items are buy one get one 50% off and they have a huge summer clearance section. On top of all that they have a $25 off of $75 coupon that it is good until September 3rd.

For this particular outfit, I tried to pick items that were summery but you could extend them into fall by wearing a blazer or jacket. Also, because of the buy one get one 50% off I was able to add a cute t-shirt for $7.48.

A few months ago, I decided to combine my love of bargains, New York City, and fashion. It has always been my goal to start my own business(I teach entrepreneurship) and I always have a trillion ideas. This particular idea came to me because my sister and I were always getting compliments on our outfits. And people were always amazed when they found out how much we paid for them. This is what I wore last night when we went out to dinner(and shopping afterwards, WOOT!). The $8 UNIONBAY pants, the L.E.I graphic tee that was among the haulage this past Memorial Day sale. A butterfly pendant necklace from Hot Topic(a gift form the hubby years ago), the remaining beads bracelet that I own(Baby Girl broke my other 2), DG blinged sunnies and Xhilaration black teardrop earrings from Target(can’t remember how much). The RAMPAGE studded platform shoes to complete the look.

I would’ve worn my Red Heels with this ensemble to match the red wide belt but I decided I’d continue wear the black heels since I wanted to wear my long cross necklace and black beads dangling eaarings. I’m glad I opted for it coz the red belt accentuated the whole look by itself. I would wear this dress by itself but my legs are still nursing a few more scars from the bug bites I’ve gotten 2 weekends ago.

Retail price is $40 but was priced $32 at the PX(Air Force Base). After the 75% was taken out, I only paid $8. OH MY GAWD! I told my husband this UNIONBAY low-rise khaki jeans with olive green belt was meant for me. The 75% off sale was waiting for me. It was the last jeans and I found it buried among tops which had 25% off tags. It fit me like a glove. I LOVE IT. $8 for jeans, Helllooo??? AND, it’s Unionbay. Definily a Bargain Styling A-lister .

I wore this gray mini-dress, slim black trouser and heels ensemble to Church on Mother’s Day. It was actually a last minute decision coz I planned days before to wear a white dress but my legs are tattered with bug bites from when my husband and I lounged in our deck Friday night. My husband was spared but for some reason I always end up being bitten, incessantly. We used the same bug spray for crying out loud. He said maybe because I’m too sweet. Perhaps,

I usually wear this color during Fall season but I thought I could get away with it right now by accentuating it with a pink beads necklace and pink beads bangle bracelet. Wearing a mini-dress over a trouser worked perfectly for Church in my opinion. This would also work for a date night out with hubby. For a daytime regular look I suggest wearing the mini-dress over jeans.

Metro7 mini-dress from Wal-Mart, on sale for $3. Black slim trouser which I don’t remember where I bought it..lol, sorry. Black strappy heels from PAYLESS. If I remember it right, I think it was a BOGO purchase 3 years ago.

So, do you want to know what’s invading the Hollywood fashion these days? The Commando style is still rampant but it seems High-Waisted look is as well. I understand like any fashionista alive that fashion is a cycle. ’60’s inspired dresses are once again the rage. I love it. But high-waisted jeans? Not so much. Scratch that, NOT AT ALL.

I’m not going to tell people what to wear, well I’m going to try anyway but this is another classic example of why we shouldn’t copy celebrities. Don’t swallow everything that Jessica Simpson practically shoves in your throat. Granted Ciara and Mischa Barton actually looked kinda decent, you still wouldn’t catch me dead in those pants.

Hey if you think you’d look good in ‘em or you’re going to look oh so fashionably trendy, go right ahead. But not for me. No Thanks. I’ll stick with MY own style. Unfortunately for the designers who suddenly brought it to life, I wouldn’t be following this trend. Even if for some miraculous reason I could afford it.

I’m wearing this orange tunic and white wide belt ensemble today for “Orange and Maroon Effect Day“. Orange tunic, $3.99 from an Army Surpluss store in NY, Levi’s jeans, $21.99, white wide belt from Ebay, black buckle detail stilletos from PX, $12.99, and black cross beads long necklace, $7.99.

If any of you are bothered for the fact that I enumerated every item in my ensemble considering it’s supposed to be in support for the Virginia Tech victims, I just want to say, this is a Fashion blog specifically for styling on a budget. Therefore the focus is fashion. I have written about this tragedy in different blogs I write for.

Blue rectangle pendant necklace(JW, can’t remember how much), blue beads, $1 and blue with ruby beads bracelet, $1, for accessories. Like I said, I love blue :). And I’m pretty sure the whole outfit didn’t cost me more than $60.

I’ll never be able to wear skinny jeans, unless I starve myself for 5 straight months(LOL, it’ll never happen) coz I don’t want my huge hips to all of a sudden go medieval on me for painstakingly trying to fit it in one but if I could, I’d start off with the ensemble below. It’s casual and it just makes you feel so put together that you want to say to anyone staring at your ass, “yeah buddy, drool away” :D.

Skinny jeans from Metro7, $19.94. The green stripes sweater is perfect for the Spring’s cool breeze. The hem kinda covers the midriff a little bit which is always a good trick. And, it’s only $11. Kitten heels pointy toe shoes adds sophistication to this look. On sale for $13. The Onyx beads necklace is a little pricey for my taste, $45 but this is just an idea of the kinds of necklace that will look good with the sweater. I’m pretty sure you can find a cheaper one from another store. Overall total is $88.94 so even with the expensive necklace, the whole ensemble is still under $100

I posted last week what I was going to wear this past Saturday but in the end I added a little twist coz of the cool weather. Not too shabby I think. L.E.I low-rise jeans, green camisole, a camouflage short sleeves hoodie, and of course my green pumps. For accessories, I wore my light tan marbled beads necklace, wood beaded Asian bracelets(2) that my husband bought me from his deployment in Korea and sterling hoop earrings. I thought I looked good that’s why I’m posting it here even though the occassion is already over, heh. I was stylin’, what can I say. Of course, the whole outfit was less than $100. Jeans for $9.99, camisole from Levi’s Outlet for less than $5, camouflage hoodie that my hubby picked himself from Goody’s for $7.98, PAYLESS pumps for 9.99, bead necklace for a $1 from a local Flea Market, bracelets were gifts and the earrings we’re a part of a 3-sets for $3.20. NICE.

Ever wondered what kind of outfit $100 can get you at Target? These virtual(online window shopping) purchases were actually inspired by a lady I saw at Church last Sunday. The service was over and we were standing in line to greet our Pastor when I happened to glance at her. It took my every ounce of self control not to go over to her and start screaming with my Valley accent, “OMG, I love your outfit”. HAHA!. So if you are curious how far you could stretch $100 to look fabulous, here they are.

The Isaac Mizrahi boot Cut Pants is on clearance for $24.99. I love how flattering the silhoutte is. The violet Cami is new at Target which is another Isaac Mizrahi piece. It’s a little pricey for a camisole, 22.99, well for my pocket anyway but for that bold purple color, I say go fot it. I love the scalloped detail too. For a cover-up, the long-sleeved belted jacket will match perfectly. I wish they had another color of it but for the clearance sale of $13.99, you might as well get it. You can probably wear it with other camis you have in your closet anyway. Always, ALWAYS, wear a pointed-toe sling back when you’re wearing a trouser. In my opinion, it gives that very chic and sophisticated look. this Mossimo Haidee Satin bow heels is just perfect. $22.99 is definitely worth paying for it.

I think you can get away without wearing any accessories since that violet cami is such a great piece the look is pretty much complete but if you really must wear one, go for this 14.99 Seascape long ling rope from Xhilaration. The whole look for a total of $99.95. This outfit is good for the office and when you’re done with work, you can nix the jacket off for a casual night out with your friends or your partner. For church, well just put the jacket back on.
