This Boots Are Made For Walking, pt2 : Black Boots

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

black_boots2.jpgLike I promised yesterday with the Brown Boots get up, here’s the faux suede round-toe knee-high black boots look. I bought this stacked heels pair last year at PAYLESS for $29.99. This blue peasant dress is actually a spring/summer dress but color never hurts anyone during the fall and winter. It definitely puts life in the dreary cold weather around here. When it’s really frigid I usually wear black tights to keep my legs warm but mostly I go bare. Just like the color, a little skin never hurt anyone either. I love pairing dresses with boots. Besides cuddling with the hubster because we’re too cheap to turn on the heater, and sharing a cup of hot chocolate with my son, it’s one of the things I look forward to during the fall/winter season. Being stylish is never far from my consciousness, I guess :). Hey, just because I don’t have my 18 yr. old body anymore that doesn’t mean I stopped caring of how I look. And just because it’s cold outside you shouldn’t let that little fact discourage you from looking chic and stylish. Don’t be afraid to wear those dresses with knee-high boots. A trench coat will go nicely with this for that needed cover up when it’s really cold outside.

This Boots Are Made For Walking, pt1: Brown Boots

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

It’s getting warmer but not quite so before the Spring finally(oh please!!)creeps up upon us I wanted to sneak in at least a couple of posts featuring my favorite fall/winter ensemble focusing on my faux suede brown knee-high boots which I bought from good ‘ol PAYLESS 3 years ago for $19.99. First of, I prefer stacked heels over stilletos when it comes to boots. Yes the latter are oh so sexy but let’s face it’s hard to walk in them. We lived in NY for 8 years where we got inches after inches of snow during winter. To be comfortable and still maintain the chic style that you want, it’s a necessity to opt for a stacked heel boots. We’re now in a State where it gets cold and doesn’t snow except for certain parts(although not as bad as NY) but I still love my preferred kind of boots. Trends are trends but chic and comfort goes a long way my friends.

These are 2 variations of the natural tone look I love during the fall/winter. Crinkled full skirt was $9.98 from Goody’s, olive green crinkle camisole from Metro7 collection(Wal-Mart) on sale for $3, dark brown long sleeves button mini-blazer that I’ve had in my wardrobe for years so I can’t remember where I bought it and how much. I’m pretty sure it didn’t cost me more than $10. Second look is the same except for the skirt. Bubble print pleated skirt that I found at AAFES from one of their 75% off sale 3 or 4 years ago. I can’t remember the prize too but I know I didn’t pay more than $10 either.

There you go, come back tomorrow for the black faux suede knee-high look. See you then :).

How To Wear A Bubble Top?

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

bubble_top1.jpgThe uber-stylish Sasha from Tops2Bottoms featured a fashionista wearing a Bubble Tunic which inspired me to showcase here at BS my own version of wearing a bubble top. First of all, I found this orange one at AAFES during my birthday shopping spree last December on sale for only $1.50. Yeah, 75% off the original price then another 50% off at the register. Too bad I didn’t find any other colors to take advantage of that sale. Anyhooo, what I love about a Bubble top is that it hides that annoying pooch I can’t seem to get rid off even after losing weight 6 months after having a baby. Mothers, you know what I mean. Thank goodness for Bubble Tops :).

brown_wedge.jpgI wear mine with my L.E.I Chelsea Low Rise Boot Cut that I bought from Goody’s for $19.99. Another item from my birthday shopping spree. I finish this combination off with the brown Mossimo wedge I bought from Target 2 years ago on sale for $12.99. So to calculate this fabulous get up, $1.50 for the top, $19.99 for the jeans and $12.99 for the wedge, the overall total is : $34.48.

So to sum it all up, you get an idea on how to wear a bubble top in a very afforadable yet sexy way. That my friends is what Bargain Styling is all about. Now what are you waiting for?, go find your first Bubble Top then strut your stuff. WOOHOO!.
