My 2007 Oscar’s Best and Worst Dressed Picks

by Dexie

One of my important mantras when it comes to being stylish and fashionable is “never pay retail” but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate a wicked designer item, high end coutures or gorgeous designer gowns. I love watching award shows not because I am so invested in who wins or lose but because of the fashion. This year, the ceremeony was so boringly long, I apologize to all the technical and main category winners, but damn it just went on and on. Seriously, you all should’ve won. You’ve all worked hard and you’re all good, blah blah blah, but I’m more interested on what my favorites wore at the red carpet, LOL.

MY BEST DRESSED LIST

Gwyneth Paltrow and Reese Witherspoon were the two ladies I was looking forward to. They didn’t disappoint me. I loved how Gwyneth looked like a goddess with her flowing hair and just as classic as she always is. Her Zac Posen gown is one of those gowns where you really gotta have the “it” fashion sense to pull it off which is probably why Yahoo! Movies put her in their worst dressed list. BULL!. That’s ok though coz she’s among the InStyle’s Best Dressed List. Reese on the other hand is on everybody’s wish list. I have to confess though, I stayed up freaking all night watching the boring ceremony just to see her..hehehe. I love her new hairstyle. I loved this playful strapless Nina Ricci gown. There’s nothing else I could say about it coz the dress and how Resse carried if off so confidently speaks for itself. Loved It!, Loved It! Loved It!.

MY WORST DRESSED LIST

Sorry but Cameron’s white Valentino gown looks like one of those dreaded worst bridesmaid gowns. Ewww. The hair?, Come On, did Justin take her hair brush when they broke up?. Anne, Oh Anne. I don’t even know where to begin so I’m just going to take the high road and not say anything at all.

I agree with that worst dressed list 100%. I thought the same exact thing. I hated that a behind one ear look Gwyneth had with her hair though. That was so affected.

I loved both dresses too. Gwyneth Paltrow looks much better on this one than she did a couple of years ago. She said she found the dress in the internet? Reese is beautiful as always.

Don’t know what Anne was thinking. Maybe she’s trying to be different than the rest and not show everything she’s got? It’s definitely unflattering though. :( I also thought the same thing about Cameron’s hair. LOL. Don’t know why the people at the Oscars loved it. Looks like an 80’s flashback.

The detail on J Lo’s dress around the neck was pretty but I wasn’t crazy about the color or the shape. Very blah.. She looked like she was going to Greece or something.

hi Tracey, i felt a little bit of that with Gwyneth too but I love her so it didn’t botther me that much..hehehe

Ayen, that’s exactly what I thought about J.Lo’s dress. and I didn’t like her hair either. she looked matronly to me.
