Shoes makes me happy, but not these ones
PAYLESS is where I mostly buy my shoes. I ALWAYS take advantage of their BOGO sale. That’s Buy One Get One 1/2 off for you people who have no idea what it means. The store have been showcasing sexy designs lately like my favorite red shoes and the orgasmically eye popping green heels. I’ve also purchased my 2 faux suede knee high boots(black and brown) there. Not only are they affordable for my husband’s wallet ;), they’re also surprisingly comfortable. I’ve been seeing their Spring commercials on TV lately so I thought I’d visit their online site to make notes for my annual Shoes Wishlist. Boy was I dissappointed. Actually, after perusing the site, I was left in a very depressing mood. It is really bad when a shoe freak like me feels this way :(.
This is the “Jessica” Round Toe Pump. This comes in other colors as well. That tidbit doesn’t really make me all excited about this shoes. Despite the sexy heels, I absolutely hate it. I have 1 pair of round toe pump and I absolutely love it but this one is just FUGLY. Sorry. It’s supposed to be what’s “in” for Spring but I’m not impressed. This shows you how confident I am with my style. Just because something is “in”, that doesn’t mean I will be all over it especially when I know I will look like crap in it. I know what I like and I know what looks good in me, this pair just doesn’t cut it.
Now this Kalypso pair from American Eagle collection is under the “so and so” category. I’m not uber-excited over it but for some reason the color is jumping at me. Maybe because it’s hard to find a navy colored pair of shoes. I’d love to own one in that color but I’m not sure about the design. It’s cute as hell but I’m a 30yr old Momma, the word “cute” belongs to my 6 month old baby girl. I on the other hand strives to be chic and sexy. The proverbial word there is ‘strives‘, hehe.
Oh well, PAYLESS will get it right again to redeem their reputation. Hopefully soon.

LOL, you’re right about the pink pair. It is fugly. The design on the second pair (checkered) reminded me so much of my nan’s old skirt. :/

The pink shoe looks like something the “super nanny” would wear. LOL. The 2nd one looks like something a 3rd grader would wear.
Payless needs to come up with better styles! I usually find something I like there too but these two aren’t my taste either..

I’m living in China right now, and both of these styles of shoes look very “Chinese” to me. It’s very hard find shoes here that appeal to the Western aesthetic. I sincerely hope shops in North America aren’t starting to take their design cues from this part of the world, ’cause believe me, you can expect to see a whole bunch more ’supper nanny’, odd shaped, round toes, bows, sequins, flowered, plaid shoes!
